The United States Digital Map Library （USDML） is non-commercial and fully committed to free genealogy access for everyone, intending to make available to general public and genealogists useful, readable, high quality maps. By reviewing the USDML, this paper provides an overview of the major development of the digital collection, including its resources organization, technologies employed, interface design and services provided. The suggestions for the improvements are also presented.
