Objective To explore the impact of reverse trendelenburg position on postoperative headache of patients with brain tumors undergoing craniotomy. Methods A total of 100 patients with intracranial tumor surgery were randomly divided equally into control group and observation group. The former were managed with the head bed elevated at a degree of 30°,while the latter received no elevation of the head bed.The headaches in both groups were observed and recorded. Results The differences of postoperative headache were statistically significant at the 24th,48th and 72nd hours, and it was milder in control group than in observation group(P0.05).For the patients with neurogliocytoma, meningioma, their headaches when elevating the head bed were milder than those with no elevation of head bed(P0.05).Conclusion Elevation of head bed after craniocerebral operations can effectively reduce headaches.
