摘要
《红楼梦》是中国古典章回小说的扛鼎之作,每一章节分"回"别"目",上下两句八字对仗,抑扬顿挫,婉转流畅,具有"音乐美"的特质。通过对《红楼梦》三个英译本的比较,分别从谐音双关、叠音、叠韵、双声、平仄等语音修辞的视角,分析三位译者是如何再现《红楼梦》原回目语言"音乐美"的艺术,剖析译者的翻译手法和翻译技巧,旨在探寻中国古典章回小说回目汉英翻译的可行性与翻译限度等问题,以期达到对中国古典章回小说回目翻译的指导作用。
Dream of red mansions is a masterpiece with unique language features in the chapter titles.From a compara-tive perspective,this study aims at analyzing the speech rhetorical devices in the three English translation versions of the chapter titles of Dream of red mansions.Three translators applied different translating styles to reappear the aesthetic val-ue from the aspect of＂three beauties＂as well as the similarities and differences in their translations.
