摘要
以往关于重言式的研究既没有对其形式做细致的分析,也没有对其意义产生机制予以充分解释。对大量真实语料的考察发现,重言式是一个独立存在的构式,有较为固定的形式,其功能在于对事物的范畴资格进行重新确认,从而使该事物的典型特征在当前语境中得到凸显。一个事物典型特征的凸显程度与其范畴的复杂程度正相关,而与其意义的固化程度负相关。
Previous research on tautologies has neither made a detailed analysis of their form nor offered a convincing interpretation of their meaning.An examination of this phenomenon based on authentic corpus within the framework of construction grammar reveals that tautologies constitute a construction,with a number of variants in form.The function of tautologies lies in reaffirming the category membership of an entity,thus highlighting its typical features in the current context.And the salience of those typical features has a positive correlation with the complexity of the category and a negative correlation with the entrenchment of its meaning.
