In The Pioneers,James Fenimore Cooper constructs a whole set of ecological discourse, which displays both the harmonious co-existence and conflict between the Man and the Nature. The holistic paradigm formed by Cooper's ecological discourse offers new perspectives for readers to understand the American environment protectionism and historical development of American Environmentalism, which is of important realistic significance to re-revaluate American literary works.
