This paper describes the insane course of change and the experience of literary creation of Xiao Hong and Sylvia Plath,the famous Chinese woman writer and American woman poet.It brings to light the subsequences brought by the social connotation of sex,distorted female social role and the traditional family consciousness.It also explores the driving forces of their writing creativity derived from their self-denial,self-denunciation of their bodies and their roles as women,and analyzes their ＂failure＂ in society and in family life,which determines their success in literary creation to a certain degree.
