Different views about discoloration of Paulownia wood and different treatment methods used to prevent and remove stains on surface of Paulownia wood are summarized. New rcscarches on modification techniques of Paulownia wood i. e surfacc strengthening and fire rctardation are briefed, and devlopment trend of Paulownia wood modification is finally analyzed.
