Based on studies about GPR by many researchers in recent years, this paper has analyzed and summarized the progress of the GPR on the equipment manufacture, data processing and radar reflection profile interpretation, and the application field in detail. And then, it has pointed out the problems and pitfalls of the equipment manufacture, date processing and the interpretation of radar reflection profiles. At the same time, this paper has made a discussion about the GPR future development. It is the purpose of this paper to make the user have a comprehensive understanding of GPR, and hope that it can offer some help for the GPR research in the futare.
