The criteria of the new curriculum positively demands that students′ ability of creative thinking should be stressed in English teaching during the period of elementary education.This paper points out the significance of developing such an ability,and probes deeply into some means in English teaching,such as skillfully used multimedia,heuristic teaching approach,divergent thinking methods,and so on in order to develop students′ ability of creative thinking.
