In chapter seven of Confucius＇ Poetic Criticism ,there is a typical assertive sentence structure＂诚 X;之也＂. Here＂诚＂ does not mean integrity, but rather an adverb, indicating indeed, and ＂之＂is a demonstrative pron. , referring to the statement there above.
