Current Condition and Prospect of Natural Gas Industry in China

天然气是世界上需求增长最快的能源，我国有发展天然气的雄厚资源基础，发展天然气工业是缓解我国能源短缺和运输压力的有利途径；是保护环境、实施可持续发展战略的必由之路。对我国天然气需求进行了预测，提出了天然气资源开发的初步规划。在利用好国内、国外两种资源建设天然气管网的同时，要抓好天然气管网的配套建设。加快发展天然气工业已成为实现国民经济跨世纪目标的重要课题。

Abstract Natural gas is the energy whose demand grows with the highest speed in the world. There are rich resources base for the development of natural gas industry in China. The development of natural gas industry is a convenient method for easing energy shortage and pressure for transportation, and a measure for environment protection and the implementation of sustainable development strategy. Natural gas demand in China has been estimated and the preliminary plan for the exploitation of natural gas resource has been suggested. While taking advantage of both domestic and foreign resource to construct natural gas pipeline network, auxiliary facility for natural gas pipeline network should also be established. Accelerating the development of natural gas industry has become important issue of achieving national economic trans-century goal.
