摘要
后海塘始筑于唐代,经过历代数次修筑,成为镇海地区最重要的海塘。千百年来,它作为城塘合一的重要海塘工程,不仅有力地护卫着镇海城及周边沿海地区的安全,而且还与相邻的海塘工程一起,通过筑堤御潮,围海造地,促进了当地社会经济的发展。
Houhaitang（a seawall in Zhenhai） was first built in the Tang dynasty and experienced several restorations in later times.It has been the most important seawall in Zhenhai district,Ningbo.For about 1,000 years,it has played the role of a vital project that combines city wall and seawall.It ensures the safety of Zhenhai and the costal areas around it.Together with the neighbor seawalls,Houhaitang also greatly promotes the development of the local economy by building dikes against tides and reclamation projects.
