在二十世纪散文研究的基础上,新世纪以来的散文研究专著具有各层面的创新与拓展,并出现了一些新的理论生长点。本体论方面,取绎散文的本体价值要素作为研究尺度来把握散文在特定时期以及历时性的本体特征;发展论方面,在纷繁复杂的历史文化语境中审视这一文体的演变历程,并在历史沿革中探索该文体的发展规律;创作论方面,从各个时段考察散文创作,并从社会学及文化研究等角度对影响文本的时代要素及社会动因进行深入的开掘;文体论方面,在研究思路上具有在具体文本及整体流变的审视中探索散文文体特征的研究倾向;批评论方面,既有对新时期散文研究的资料整理,也出现了具有个性特征的批评史研究。
