在“思想道德修养与法律基础”课程的教学实践中，进一步明确新课程的特点、性质和使命，科学认识课程的任务、目标和追求，理清教学过程中的价值取向，不断形成政治性与科学性相统一的价值取向，社会性与个体性相统一的价值取向，思想、道德与法律教育“一体化”的价值取向，以改进教学方法、增强教学实效来促进课程可持续发展的价值取向，对于充分发挥课程的政治功能、社会功能和教育功能，真正实现课程的理论与现实价值具有重要意义。
