Abstract)A new bright black ZnNi alloy electroplating process with basic bath
solution is introduced. The technological parameters are:ZnO 2 ̄12, NaOH 80 ̄120,
NiSO46H2O 16 ̄25 glycine 4 ̄6 g/L;triethanolamine 50 ̄80,additive (WD 928) 8 ̄10
ml/L;temperature:30 ̄65 , cathodic current densities:0.5 ̄6.5 A/dm,anodes:Zn and Ni. From
this electrolyte, a bright black and anticorrosive aloy deposits containing 1 ̄10 percent nickel
content can be obtained. The results of corroding tests in 3% HCl solution and in 5% NaCl
solution showed that the anticorrosive abilities of bright black ZnNi alloy deposit were four
times as high as bright white ZnNi alloy deposit with same nickel content without passivating.
