Open Material Exchange Format Based on Network Environment

由于媒体制作机构内部局域网的存在和大量应用,制作机构内部的制作网、播出网、新闻网和媒资系统之间,包括音视频服务器、离线和近线存储系统、编辑工作站、录像设备(带有以太网文件传输能力)等等的内容交换变得十分频繁,这种交换首先是要求在网络环境下进行,其次还要与格式无关,为满足这一要求,Pro-MPEG论坛提出了MXF(Material Exchange Format,素材交换格式)。目前全球各顶级技术厂商的产品都支持MXF文件格式,MXF已成为未来电视制作和传输领域的一种标准。介绍MXF的起源、技术特点、配套软件以及其与目前常用一些文件格式的区别和联系。

As the extensive application of local area network in media production company, the material exchanging among the producing network, broadcasting network, news network and the media property management system, including audio and video servers, offiine and near-line storage systems, editing workstations and video equipment （with Ethernet file transfer capabilities）, become frequent. These exchanges need to be conducted under the network environment and without the consideration of the format. In order to meet this re- quirement, Pro-MPEG Forum proposed MXF （Material Exchange Format）. At present, the world leading technology vendors all support the MXF file format. MXF has become a standard of the future television production and transmission. This article introduces its origins, technical features and the supporting software, as well as the differences between other formats.
