Objective To observe the effect of Yang-warming and Qi-strengthening Decoction (YQD) on inflammatory reaction and immune function of acute coronary syndrome (ACS) patients. Methods One hundred and six ACS patients were randomized into treatment group (N = 55 ) and control group (N = 51 ). The two groups were given routine treatment, and the treatment group additionally received YQD (mainly composed of Radix Morindae Officinalis, Radix Salviae Miltiorrhizae, Radix Astragali, Herba Epimedii, Radix Ophiopogonis, Radix Aconiti Lateralis Preparata, Radix Notoginseng, Hirudo, etc. ). The treatment lasted 14 days. The percentages of T lymphocyte subtypes ( CD3 ^+ , CD3^ + CD4^ + , CD3 ^+ CD8 ^+ ), hypersensitive C-reactive protein ( Hs-CRP), and N-terminal pro-brain natriuretic peptide (NT-ProBNP) were observed before and after treatment. Results After treatment, the percentages of T lymphocyte subtypes (CD3^ + , CD3 ^+ CD4^ + , CD3^ + CD8^ + ), Hs-CRP, and NT- ProBNP were improved in the two groups to some extend (P 〈 0.05 or P 〈 0.01 compared with those before treatment), and the differences were significant between the two groups (P 〈 0.05 or P 〈 0.01 ). Conclusion YQD can regulate the cellular immune function, relieve inflammation, reduce incidence of infection complications and improve cardiac function of ACS patients, indicating that immunoregulation and relieving inflammation may be a new therapeutic method for ACS.
