Lessing＇s Laocoon breaks through the traditional homogeneous theory of poetry and painting,which is of great theoretical value and time significance.Such kind of heterogeneous theory of poetry and painting opposes and supplements the Chinese homogeneous theory,and it has great enlightenment to the researches on the national identity of poetries and paintings.Moreover,from the new changes in the relation between paintings and poems in modern and post-modern western countries,the perishing trend of the boundary between these two forms of art can be observed.To assess and compare Lessing＇s view in these different spatial and temporal backgrounds is conducive to studying and summarizing the essential features and new changes of poetry and painting.
