William James and Transpersonal Psychology

Transpersonal psychology, a new school of theory derived from humanistic psychology, was formed in America during the late 1960s to the early 1970s. It is William James who first proposed a concept of ＂super-individual＂ and then did a lot of research on the phenomenon of transpersonal psychology. He also strug- gled with academic experimental psychologists to defend the research on the phenomenon of transpersonal psychology. James＇ thoughts provided a useful source of idea and enlightenment for transpersonal psychology.
