The popularity and application of computer technology has greatly pushed forestry forward, and the computer technology has already become absolutely necessary for forestry. The application of computer in forestry in China is just at the beginning. Although some progress has been made, to catch up with the advanced countries there is still long way to go. The purpose of this paper is to review and discuss the dynamic state of computers application in forestry both domestic and all over the world, and its development prospects.\;
