英汉姓名来源及命名习俗之比较

在所有的词语中，人的姓名有着突出的特性，姓名与创造文明的主体——人密切联系着，伴随着人的一生。东西方在姓名的来源与命名习俗上有着很多的相似之处，当然由于汉英姓名是在不同的历史环境下沉淀下来的文化产物，是其民族语言、文化、地理、宗教、信仰等方面的历史产物，因此在命名方式上仍会存在着一定的差异。本文多角度地论述汉英姓名命名的相似及相异处及其产生的原因，分析汉英姓名的命名习俗和文化内涵，从跨文化角度透视英汉姓名所承载的民族特色、审美情趣、价值取向。

In all of the words, persons＇ names have outstanding features. Names are closely linked with the human who create the civilization. Names accompany humans＇ whole life. The east and the west have many similarities in names＇ source and the naming practices. At the same time, the differences in naming also exist because they are the cultural products precipitated from different historical circumstances. They are the products of their national languages, culture, geography, religion, belief, history, etc. This article illustrates the similarities and the differences between the Chinese and English naming ways, and also the reasons for them from multiple perspectives. So we can understand their naming practices and cultural connotations deeply and know more about their national characteristics, aesthetics and values carried by them from cross - cultural perspective.
