《理解资本主义:竞争、统制与变革》作为一本入门性的经济学读物,在理解复杂多变的现实世界上,相对于以一维经济学为特征的西方经济学教材,它所提出的三维经济学编写体系彰显了政治经济学的明显优势;而书中坚持马克思主义分析传统但又吸收西方经济学成果的多元主义视角也值得借鉴。当然,该书也存在着一些值得改进之处,如对金融资本、创新和帝国主义等问题没有给予足够的重视。

＂Understanding Capitalism： Competition,Command,and Change＂ offers insightful implications for the coursebook and teaching reforms of political economics.Compilation of this book is problem-oriented with proper level of abstract thinking,which can easily motivate the students to learn this course.As an introductory work of economics it employs a three-dimensional writing system which shows an obvious advantage over the one-dimension coursebook of economics published in the west in guiding the beginners to understand the complicated reality of the world.The book adheres to Marxist tradition of analysis and adopts a pluralist view point by drawing on study results of western economics.Nevertheless,there is also room for improvement.For instance,more attention should be directed to financial capital,innovation and imperialism.
