In Erdrich, the narrative technique of multiple perspectives is combined with native oral tradition to form a hybridized narrative mechanism, which has successfully defined a hybridized literary identity in terms of narrative structure. The hybridized narrative technique is rooted in native American tradition. It is not a simple mixture of various perspectives and languages, but has rather constructed a hybridized representational model, which helps to create a vivid native language with its own subjectivity. It is resistant in essence and refuses to be assimilated by white American ideology. In the process of creating the literary significance of its own, the hybridized narrative form also encourages the resistance and subversion against hegemonic cultural control of the white Americans.
