Concept of "Chinese Music Theory" and Confirmation of Chinese Traditional Basic Music Theory’s Quality

现今所使用的"乐理"概念有两个不同的含义,但它们都是就音乐基础理论表述范围而言,没有引发大的误解。有学者以某种文化观念给"乐理"重做界定,将其解释为包括音乐学诸多学科范畴在内的所谓"广义"的"乐理",由此而引起对传统音乐基础理论性质的根本改变。传统乐理与普通乐理都属于音乐基础学科、基本乐科。只有真正明确音乐基础理论的性质,才有可能使得中国传统音乐基础理论建设步入健康发展的轨道。

The concept of ＂Chinese music theory＂ used today has two different meanings which have not aroused any big misunderstanding for having meanings of basic music theory.Some scholars,according to certain cultural concept,redefine ＂Chinese music theory＂ and explain it as so-called ＂broad sense music theory＂,thereby leading to a quality change of Chinese traditional basic music theory.Both Chinese music theory and Western music theory belong to basic music discipline.Only really making certain of the quality of Chinese basic music theory,can the Chinese traditional basic music theory’s construction step into healthy developing path.
