分析了内燃机车柴油机故障诊断技术的现状，在此基础上提出了开发柴油机诊断专家系统的必要性；对诊断专家系统的策略，包括知识策略和求解策略进行了分析研究，这个研究为开发柴油机诊断专家系统提供了理论基础．

This paper analyzes the diagnostic technologies of the diesel at present,and points out that it is necessary to develop an diagnostic expert system.The strategies of the expert system,including of strategies of knowledge and problem solving,have been studied.Finally, a diagnostic knowledge model of the prototype system is given. The study of this paper will benefit the development of the system.
