Cultural Comparison of Guangxi Participating in GMS

广西在成为大湄公河次区域经济区的开发成员之后,面对的不利形势是地缘没有云南省那样的优势,广西壮侗民族与大湄公河次区域的泰佬掸诸民族的文化相似性为广西参与到大湄公河次区域的经济建设中提供文化连接,广西以文化项目入手将占有优先地位。

Summing up and comparing the cultural characteristics of Guangxi and GMS, this paper holds that although Guangxi has become a member of Mekong River economic sub-region, it has to confront the fact that it doesn＇t have the advantage over Yunnan concerning the border. However, the cultural similarity of ethnic groups between Guangxi＇s Zhuang and Tong and GMS＇s Thai and Gelo and Shan provides the foundation of cultural links for Guangxi＇s participating in the economic construction of GMS. To begin with cultural programs, Guangxi will have the priority.
