species of ciliates(Ciliophora:Kinetofragminophorea)identified in the soils in 6 typical zones of China,in which 5 first recorded species in Chinese soils were included,were recorded and described.The species were Pseudoholophrya terricola,Plagiocampa difficilis,Lagynophrya rostrata,Phialina binucleata,Spathidium cithara,S procerum,S longicaudatum,Bryophyllum loxophiliforme,Thysanomorpha bellerophon,Colpoda edaphoni,C tripartita,C henneguyi,C irregularis,C praestans,Paracolpoda aspera,P maupassi,Bresslaua vorax,Tillina magna,Woodruffia rostrata,W australis,Platyophrya macrostoma,Grossglockneria acuta,Stammeridium kahli,Pseudoplatyophrya nana,Cyrtolophosis acuta,Pseudocyrtolophosis alpestris,Leptopharynx costatus,Microdiaphanosoma arcuata and Odontochlamys gouradi.
