浅谈图书馆开展“全民阅读”的必要性

A Brief Discussion about the Necessity of ‘Reading for all’ Launched by Libraries

图书馆是开展"全民阅读"最活跃的场所之一。开展"全民阅读",努力提高国民的素质,是增强国家竞争力的重要手段,同时也是应对21世纪科技竞争的必要保障。从了解我国"全民阅读"逐年上升的趋势,以及在开展阅读实践中出现的弊端,认识到图书馆自身的优势、本身的责任以及社会发展的要求决定了其开展"全民阅读"的必要性,从而可以采取提高服务质量、开展阅读活动、关注弱势群体、争取社会支持等措施来提高全民阅读率,更好地推动和谐社会的发展。

Library is one of the most active sites for the ＂Reading for All＂. Encouragement of all the people to read is an effort to improve the essential qualities of people and enhance national cgmpetitiveness. It also ensures the success in technological competition. This study discusses the importance and necessity of encouraging more people to read and the role libraries play in this effort.
