关于汽车专业英语教学的几点思考

Reflection on English for Automobile Specialty

针对目前高职院校学生词汇量较小,阅读和翻译能力较差的问题,对汽车专业英语教学进行思考并提出建议。词汇学习方面,记忆单词可按音节分组记忆、音标协助记忆和注重一词多义等;拓展词汇,可以词根为核心、注重合成词组、合理利用联想法和归纳总结近义词;要重视专业词汇的学习,关注缩略语。另外,在语法与翻译方面要注意找句子主干,合理断句,弄清代词指代对象和语序的调整。

To the present problems about smaller vocabulary and poor reading and translating ability in higher vocational school students, this paper proposes some consideration and suggestion on English teaching for Automobile Specialty. For vocabulary learning, this paper gives four suggestions ： methods of memorizing words, such as grouping by syllable, transcription assistance and paying attention to polysemy; methods of expanding vocabulary, such as taking the root as the core, paying attention to synthetic phrases, making reasonable utilization of association and summarizing near synonymous vocabularies ; paying attention to specialized vocabulary; and attaching importance to abbreviations. In addition, this paper also puts forward four suggestions for grammar and translation： finding out the skeleton of a sentence; making reasonable pause in reading; figuring out the pronoun and the referred - object and readjusting the word order.
