The Cross-border Dulong:An Explanation of its Self and Other Names in China and Burma

本文结合独龙族的分布、传说以及与其他兄弟民族的语言和渊源关系,对独龙族的自称和他称作了语言学考释,并质疑和批评了以往独龙族历史研究中所谓独龙族先民或"俅人"是唐末樊绰所著《蛮书》里记载的"僧耆部落"或是一些近、现代文献中的"侏儒民族"的观点。

Based on the Dulong＇s distribution, legends, language and origin relations with others ethnic groups, the paper makes a linguistic study on the self and other names of the Dulong, and raises doubts about the name of ＂Zangi Tribe＂ in Manshu by Fan Chuo in Tang Dynasty and the name of ＂Dwarf Nation＂ in modern documents.
