Higher education database is of great value in assessing and making decision and doing research on higher education.American higher education,while developing,has established a relatively complete system of database,which owes to the combined efforts of the Federal Department of Education,higher education research institutions,some intermediary organizations,colleges,universities and the state higher education administrative organizations.They invest a lot and put great emphasis on information services and the building of professional staff.These may give us some hint for our construction of higher education database.
