This paper introduces technical superiority of ATM and Gigabit Ethernet in backbone of campus network, compares ATM with Gigabit Ethernet at many aspects, finally, expound the techniques of network at essential aspect developing is that ATM will have side by side with Gigabit Ethernet in the future.
