甘蔗新品种桂糖20号的选育

Study on the Breeding of Recommended Variety Named "Guitang No.20" of Sugarcane

本文介绍了广西甘蔗优良品种"桂糖20号"的选育过程和主要特性特征,为甘蔗杂交育种和生产上推广种植提供参考。"桂糖20号"是广西甘蔗所用早熟、高糖、适应性强品种"桂糖11号"为母本,以具有直立、抗倒、高产品种"崖城73—512"为父本,进行系统地杂交选育而成。该品种具有早熟、稳产、高糖、成茎率较高、抗病虫能力强、耐寒、宿根性和抗倒伏较强、适应性广等特性。"桂糖20号"性状优良,2005年3月通过了国家品种委员会的审定,是值得推广的甘蔗优良品种。

This paper described the breeding process and the main characteristics of recommended variety named＂Guitang No.20＂of Sugarcane in Guangxi,which could provide the valuable reference for Sugarcane cross-breeding and commercial planting in production.＂Guitang No.20＂was selected from the crossing between＂Guitang No.11＂and＂Yacheng 73-512＂by Sugarcane Research Institute of Guangxi.As the female parent,＂Guitang No.11＂had the desirable characteristics of early maturity,high cane yield and well-adapted.As the male parent,＂Yacheng 73-512＂ had the desirable characteristics of up-right,lodging-resistant,high sucrose content.The results of planting test showed that ＂Guitang No.20＂had the desirable characteristics of early maturity,stable yield,high cane yield,high fascicled stem rate,disease and insect resistance,cold-tolerance,strong perennial ability,lodging resistance and wide adaptability.＂Guitang No.20＂was approved by the National Variety Committee in march 2005 for its excellent characters,therefore,it is worthy to be promoted as the recommended variety of Sugarcane.
