Abstract The paper introduces a kind a dust collecting type econormizer for industrial boilers, which in practive represents the combination of dust collectors with economizers. They are featured by simplicity of construction, cheapness in cost, occupation of only a small floor area, facility of manufacture and installation as well as by no need for flue gas flow to turn its direction. Cold model experiments and test results during practical application show, that the installation has a relative high dust collecting efficiency and heat transmission effectiveness, which makes it recommendable for retrofitting purposes of boilers to reduce their dust emission and raise their thermal efficiency.
