试析严复晚年政治思想的转变及其原因

Analyzing the Change and Reasons of Political Thought of Yanfu in His Later Years

严复是中国近代著名的资产阶级启蒙思想家和维新思想家，最早引进了西方先进的自由平等思想，抨击君主专制制度，力图通过其努力，唤醒国人，拯救中国。但是，晚年的严复却从力主学习西方向提倡“复古”急剧转变，其原因主要有以下几个方面：一是戊戌变法的流产；二是第一次世界大战的影响；三是社会因素；四是严复自身的原因。

Yanfu was a famous enlightened and reformative thinker in modem times. He was the first man who brought in the thoughts of freedmn and equality from western countries and made a vehement attack on absolute monarchy in order to arouse and save people. But he changed his mind and became a strong advocate to restore ancient ways in his later years . I think the mainly reasons are： 1. the abortion of Wuxu Political Reform;2. the impact of the first world war ; 3. social factors ; 4. Yanfu himself
