MINIMUM... OR MAXIMUM CITIES?

经济危机之后,西方社会的城市探讨更多地被对于未来发展的种种悲观和深刻焦虑所主导,进而导致了对可持续发展、环境保护主义等概念的教条化。这一趋势根植于整个西方文化对于人类社会自我能力的失信,并进而可能冲蚀城市文明的进程。本文试图对此局限的观念进行反思并鼓励人本为中心的城市进程。

The post-recession Western world discussion of metropolitan future is primarily dominated by a pessimistic outlook of the future and unprecedented anxiety, which lead to indoctrination of the concept of sustainability and environmentalism.Embedded in the widespread cultural disenchantment with humanity＇s own confidence in itself in the West, this social trend might undermine human progress and civilisation.This paper attempts to challenge this view and make the case for a human centred approach to cities.
