Maternal Love Myth’s Subversion——Interpreting the Mother Image in Xiaohong’s Works

萧红是一位命运悲苦但富有传奇色彩的现代女作家,她的一生颠沛流离、悲凉短暂。传统观念里的"母亲"一直是伟大和崇高的化身,是牺牲和奉献的代名词,而萧红划开笼罩在"母性"之上的灼人光辉,使被施予了华丽外衣的"母性"骤然赤裸,她笔下的母亲不仅形体、相貌丑陋,而且大多在无爱的婚姻中进行着动物似的生育,游走在生死的边缘,为"物"而疯狂,都是自私、冷酷、残暴的母亲。萧红之所以淡漠母爱,颠覆母爱,与她成长历程中母爱的缺失、贫穷的流亡生活及萧红对母性的颠覆性认识密切相关。

Xiao Hong,a modern woman writer with a sad but legendary life,lived a stormy short life.＂Mother＂is the vessel of greatness and nobility in traditional concept,and the name of sacrifice and dedication.However,Xiaohong peeled the halo decorated ＂mother＂.Without the grand decoration,the image of mother in her stories is ugly in person and body.Most of them are selfish,cruel,and ferocious as birth-giving machine in loveless marriage at the edge of despair.Xiaohong’s image of mother came from partly her childhood experience that was lack of mother love and partly due to her hard life.
