This paper introduces the characteristics of OpenLayers and Ajax technology,analyzes the advantages of combining two technology to develop WebGIS client,describes the solution of the developing client.The result indicates that using of OpenLayers and Ajax technology provides an important means for the establishing fluent,rapid,WebGIS system.
