从当代史学史理论的角度分析,1981年中共中央通过的《关于建国以来党的若干历史问题的决议》对中华人民共和国史学科和研究有着重要的奠基和指导作用。主要表现为:《历史决议》的通过,标志着国史研究的起步和国史学科的开创;《历史决议》关于建国以来32年基本状况和重大事件、人物的论断,为国史研究提供了指导思想和基本原则;《历史决议》研究、评价建国以来历史的科学辩证方法,是国史研究的基本方法;在《历史决议》精神的指导下,对国史研究进行继承、发展和创新。

'Resolutions about Several Historical Issues since the Founding of the New China' is an important foundation and guide for the discipline of national history of People’s Republic of China. For, it marked the start of the researches of the national history and the establishment of the discipline; the conclusions about the important figures and events have provided guiding thoughts and basic principle; its comments on history of the new China adopts the scientific and dialectic methods which are also the basic one in researching the national history. Under the guide of the historical resolution, the study of the national history will be inherited, developed and innovated.
