《大妇小妻还牢末》中刘唐的形象并不矛盾——与刘靖之、黄欣二位先生商榷

The Image of Liu Tang in "Huan Lao Mo" Is Not Contradictory——A Discussion with Mr. Liu Jingzhi and Huang Xin

对于水浒杂剧《大妇小妻还牢末》中的人物刘唐,刘靖之、黄欣两位学者一致认为其形象是矛盾的,至于矛盾的成因则有作者的无心之失与有意设置两说。但是笔者认为刘唐毫无矛盾性可言,当今之所以认为刘唐的形象存在矛盾是因为去古已远、隔膜难辨,难免出现理解上的偏差,在某种程度上也是我们过度阐释、强作解人的结果。

Liu Jingzhi and Huang Xin think that the image of Liu Tang in ＂Huan Lao Mo＂,a Water Margin Zaju,is contradictory.As for the causes of the contradiction,there are two versions,namely,the author＇s carelessness and deliberate design.However,the article believes that Liu Tang is not contradictory at all.The current belief in the contradiction of his image is caused by its ancientness,and ambiguity,which inevitably lead to deviation in understanding.To some extent,it is also the result of our over-interpretation and far-fetched explanation.
