Analysis on the Causes of Planck's Amending the Energy Quantum Hypothesis

追求统一性是普朗克科学思想的主线,贯穿他的整个科学生涯;促使普朗克重新研究并修改能量子假说的深层次原因是普朗克觉得它威胁和破坏了他的统一性信念,修改能量子假说是理论物理学在当时的发展状况和普朗克的统一性信念相结合的特殊产物;统一性信念对普朗克的科学活动具有双重的影响,既使他获得了最高的科学成就,也曾让他承受莫大的心理"痛苦",普朗克是由于科学信念而导致两难困境的典型。

Pursuit toward unity was a main thread of Planck's scientific thought and ran through his entire scientific career. The deep reason for Planck to re-examine and modify Energy Quantum Hypothesis was that he felt it was threatening and destroying the faith of unity buried in his deep heart. Modifying Energy Quantum Hypothesis was a special product combining the real situation of theoretical physics in the time and Planck's faith of unity.Faith of unity exerted double influence on Planck's scientific activities,both making him obtain highest scientific accomplishment and bringing him utmost psychological torture. Therefore,we could say that Planck was a typical scientist once in a dilemma caused by his faith of science.
