Introduction to Broadband Satellite System

卫星宽带系统是信息化技术发展的产物,是解决传输带宽限制的一种手段。目前卫星宽带系统正处于研制开发阶段,其中,较具代表性的Teledesic和Skybridge系统间存在着根本区别;前者不依赖地面网,自成体系;后者则需依赖地面网发展业务。卫星宽带系统的投入使用还需较长的一段时间。

The broadband satellite system is the product of the development of the information technology and it is an effective transmssion medium to resolve the constraint of the transmission bandwidth. It is now at the stage of research and development. Fundamental difference exists between the typical Teledesic and Skybridge systems; the former is independent of the terrestrial network and forms a system of its own; the latter relys its service development on the terrestrial network. It will take some time for the broadband satellite system to be readily available.
