摘要
Ｉｎｔｅｒｎｅｔ作为一个具有深远影响力和不断发展的信息咨询网，如何提供实时多媒体通信服务已成为世界各国通信界竞相研究的重点。ＲＳＶＰ（资源预留协议）研究的主要目的正是将综合业务引入Ｉｎｔｅｒｎｅｔ网络，因而一经提出便受到国内外学者的普遍关注。本文简要描述了ＲＳＶＰ协议与多媒体通信的关系及其在多媒体通信系统中的作用。
In this paper,a simple overview of RSVP & Internet multimedia communication is provided.Beginning with a brief survey on its data forwarding function, the paper then follows by discussing its multicasting capabilities,and concludes with a short description of RSVP's roles in QoS guarrantees in the multimedia communication.
