随着社会的发展,女性阅读已不容忽视。长期以来,为女性读者提供服务是图书馆服务的一个盲点。阅读是女性的心灵鸡汤,意义重大。女性阅读直接关涉民族未来,能够提高个人素质、促进家庭和社会的和谐。与男性阅读相比,女性阅读呈现出依赖性、感性化、从众心理三大特点。图书馆必须了解女性阅读的特点,引导她们走进图书馆,继而推进全民阅读。图书馆充分发挥自身的优势,为女性读者支撑起一片阅读的天空,是其义不容辞的重要社会职责。

As the society developed, female reading has become an issue that one can hardly fail to notice. However, it has also been a long-existing blind spot for libraries to provide services to female readers. In fact, reading can be as nourishing as chicken soup for the soul of women. Reading does not only improve personal qualities of female readers but also promotes the harmony of their families and the whole society. Compared to male reading, female reading takes on characteristics of dependence, perceptualization and herd mentality. It is vital for the library to know features of female reading in order to attract female readers and to further promote all people reading. Therefore, one of the most important social duties of the library is exerting its own advantages to hold up a sky for female readers.
