摘要
本文通过对哈佛、耶鲁、普林斯顿三所大学工程教育发展过程的梳理,揭示了综合性大学开展工程教育是回应社会需求的必然选择,展现了综合性大学发展工程教育所面临的挑战和机遇。传统大学振兴工程教育的艰辛历程,为打造以工程教育驱动的创业型大学提供了经验和教训,也为理工科大学发展给出了对照和参考。
This article discussed the historical development of engineering education in Harvard, Yale and Princeton. This development shows that it is necessary for traditional university to initiate engineering education for addressing the need in our society. This history also shows the challenges and opportunities facing engineering education in these traditional universities and institutes of technology. All of the experience will benefit the discussion about development of EE--driven entrepreneurial university.
