摘要
当前高校翻译教学模式的探讨受到广泛关注,但这种探讨基本上没有触及翻译教学模式的认识论基础,因此,在以社会建构主义为视角,审视传统翻译教学模式的理论基础上,对翻译教学模式创新提出了基本设想。传统翻译教学模式是教师为中心的模式,其认识论基础是客观主义。客观主义认为知识独立于认知主体而存在,所以,翻译知识和技能可由教师向学生传递。而社会建构主义认为知识是认知主体基于个人经验在社会环境下主动建构的动态过程,加之翻译知识具有"不良结构特征",对于这种知识和技能学习者只有通过翻译行为才能掌握,被动地由教师讲授非有效途径,因此,传统翻译教学模式的思想应该转变,教学模式需要创新,该模式下教师和学生的角色应该重新定义。
The teaching mode of translation has been under heated discussion recently. However,its theoretical assumption has not been touched upon so far.The article therefore attempts to examine its theoretical foundation from the perspective of social constructivism in order to propose a viable theory for innovation of the mode.The traditional mode of translation is based upon the objectivism assumption that knowledge exists independent of a cognitive agent,thus translation knowledge or competence can be transferred from a teacher to a student.Constructivism to the contrary maintains that knowledge is a dynamic process in which a learner takes an active part under social setting.Furthermore,translation knowledge is characterized by "ill structured domain" ,which can be "coached" ,rather than be "taught".As a result,the traditional teacher-centered mode needs to be innovated.
