William Blake’s fame among Chinese readers is to a great degree based on the first stanza of ＂Auguries of Innocence＂ which contains a series of paradoxes and is unexpectedly seldom known by Western readers.It is the philosophical and mystical undercurrents within the stanza that triggers Chinese readers’ association of the enlightenment of Zen wits and subtleties.And the popularity of the stanza in China is credited to its successful Chinese translation as well.
