On the Relation between Content Schema and the Cognitive Strategies in Advanced Reading

摘要 高级阅读的现状分析反映了学生在阅读中不仅要拥有足够的语言知识,还要具备丰富的背景知识;内容图式是理解语篇内容的主要依据,背景知识是内容图式的重要组成部分;内容图式的构建要从整个英语专业的定位和课程设置抓起,通过跨学科的配合,帮助学生构建丰富的内容图式,积累背景知识,提高认知水平。 The current situation of Advanced Reading reveals the insufficiency of English majors’ background knowledge besides rich linguistic knowledge.The comprehension of text is mainly based on content schema,one of whose important components is the knowledge about background.The construction of content schema calls for an appropriate orientation,a reasonably-designed curriculum and cross-disciplinary cooperation for English majors,which will help students enrich their content schema,accumulate background knowledge and then improve their cognition.
