According to the characteristics of loess,this paper discusses the designs,layouts and construction methods of the loess hydraulic tunnel.The main problems encountered in the design of loess hydraulic tunnel such as instability,collapse and inhomogeneous deformation of contact zone are further explained through project cases and experience.The structural pattern and material of the tunnel lining and the layout of line are also discussed through these cases.These discussions will provide reference for designers and constructors.
