走向明天的教育学院——对北大教育学院的一些观察

School of Education for Tomorrow

本文根据作者应邀在北大教育学院作的访问,对于学院的性质、优势和发展方向,作了一些观察。这些观察,围绕着如何建设"明天的教育学院",以北大教育学院为例,作了一些探索。在这个探索过程中,一方面根据社会的变化,注意描绘理想与未来;另一方面又尽量兼顾国际发展的大势、中国的国情与北大的现实。作者观察到,北大教育学院以研究为主、以政策为主、以宏观为主,但也兼顾其他。作者提出,对于高素质的、政策性的教育研究机构,人们一般会有四种期望:高度严谨的研究水平、影响政策的理性根据、领导时代的学术见地、洞悉未来的科学预见,未来的教育研究势必在宏观方面超越教育,在微观方面需要研究人类的学习。

The article contains observations of the Peking University Graduate School of Education based on a review visit in December 2009.The observations include:identification of the nature and strengths of the School,aspirations for the School if it aims at building a'School of Education for Tomorrow',and recommendations for further developments. The observations try to hit a balance between the present and the future, the global trends and local specificity,as well as the aspired and the practicable.Among others,the article attempts to elaborate on the notion of scholarship as different from'research output',and the mission of policy studies in looking into the future.
